Dr. Howard Maibach
A professor at the University of California Department of Dermatology for more than 45 years, Dr. Maibach is one of the country's leading academics and a specialist in Dermatotoxicology of Transdermals. Previously he held various academic posts at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He serves on the FDA panel and is a consultant to both the American Medical Association and the Department of the Navy.

As both an active physician and academic, Dr. Maibach has given hundreds of lectures worldwide and received more than 40 outstanding service honors and awards. His list of editorial assignments and published articles has been read by leading thinkers across the globe.

Dr. Maibach serves in more than 22 scientific societies and has held many positions of service, including in the US Army.

He earned his MD at Tulane University and his undergraduate degree at Columbia University.
Ken Klein
Ken has more than 35 years of experience within the cosmetics industry and has held executive positions at Lever Brothers, Van Dyk, and Henkel. He writes an ongoing column that appears in Cosmetics & Toiletries magazine and Formulator's Forum as well as Read the Label.

He is a fellow of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and of the American Institute of Chemists. Ken is an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University and an instructor for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists where he teaches courses in: Cosmetic Formulations; Sunscreens; Emulsions; and Computers. He is a frequent speaker at scientific conferences in America as well as in Europe and South America. He has published numerous papers, holds several patents, and has authored a chapter on sunscreen formulation published by Marcel Decker. Ken has the distinguished honor of being the 2002 recipient of the esteemed Spirit of Sam Award.

He has a BS in Chemistry from CCNY and an MS from Long Island University.
Dr. Johann Wiechers
Dr. Wiechers is one of the world's leading cosmetic scientists, publishing over 100 articles and columns as well as authoring numerous books and receiving more than five internationally recognized awards. He is a much sought after lecturer and holds several of his own patents. Dr. Wiechers is renowned for his scientific expertise in: skin penetration; clinical trial design; skin sensory techniques; measurement of efficacy of cosmetic products; and biostatistics.

Dr. Wiechers is one of the most distinguished scientists in his field with more than 17 years of executive experience in research management within a commercial research environment. He also has held a series of scientific management positions during his more than 10 years at Unilever.

He is an active and respected member of many scientific societies, including the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists and the Society of Cosmetic Chemists. He has served in the following positions for the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists, of which he is currently the Vice President:
  • Hon. Auditor (1998 – 2001)
  • Chair of the Science and Education Committee (2000 – 2003)
  • Committee Member 1, 2, or 3 (2003 – 2006)
He earned his PhD in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the State University of Groningen, the Netherlands, on September 25, 1989, and a degree in Pharmacy (cum laude) at the State University of Groningen, the Netherlands, in 1985.
Alisa Marie Beyer
As the president of The Benchmarking Company, Alisa works hard to know what women are doing, thinking, feeling, and buying, and what they want from their beauty brands. Alisa helps companies understand what it will take to gain customer attention and brand loyalty. Her clients include both small and global companies, including: Estée Lauder; Mary Kay; L'Oréal; L'Occitane; Kao Brands; Fresh; Bath & Body Works; and Victoria's Secret Beauty. Alisa has interviewed and facilitated meetings with thousands of women on behalf of clients.

Alisa is a magna cum laude graduate of Wilson College, with a degree in Economics and English.

Alisa is a member of the Qualitative Research Consulting Association, Cosmetic Executive Women, and the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association.
